FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA TO APPEAR ON “NCIS” IN SUPPORT OF “JOINING FORCES,” A NATIONWIDE INITIATIVE SUPPORTING SERVICE MEMBERS, VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES

First Lady Michelle Obama will appear in an NCIS episode in conjunction with “Joining Forces,” a nationwide initiative supporting service members, veterans and their families, on Tuesday, May 3 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.

“Filming inside the White House was a dream come true for the ‘NCIS’ cast and crew,” said Executive Producer Gary Glasberg.“It was such a pleasure working with First Lady Michelle Obama and it’s our honor to support the ‘Joining Forces’ initiative and the military families that benefit from it.”

In 2011, First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden came together to launch “Joining Forces,” a nationwide initiative calling all Americans to rally around service members, veterans and their families and support them through wellness, education and employment opportunities.

In the NCIS episode “Homefront,” First Lady Michelle Obama welcomes NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the wife of a Marine to the White House for a “Joining Forces” roundtable with military spouses. The extras cast in the roundtable scene were actual military spouses.

NCIS stars Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Emily Wickersham, Sean Murray, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, Brian Dietzen and David McCallum.

Sneak Peeks

Coming soon!

2 Mar 2016

Question: Do you have any Once Upon a Time spoilers? —Jackie
Ausiello: I have not just “any” spoilers, but a bit of a sneak peek at Season 6! For the final two episodes of the about-to-premiere Season 5B, the ABC series is looking to cast the recurring roles of two brothers — one who is physically imposing, brutish, morally corrupt and willing to destroy his family in the pursuit of power, and the other who is weaker and desperate to escape his older bro’s sinister shadow. Should Once get picked up for the fall, these two newcomers would spill over into next season, as well. Cain and Abel? An anthropomorphized Scar and Mufasa? Share your theories in the Comments!

….

Question: I am dying for some scoop on Deacon and Rayna’s wedding! Since we’ve already been spoiled that it’s happening when Nashville FINALLY returns on 3/16, can you give us any details? — JC
Ausiello:
You mean in addition to this list of spoilerish goods, JC? Wow. You really are insatiable. How about this: The last scene of the episode sets up an intriguing arc I definitely did not see coming.

Question: Got any scoop on Blindspot? —Michelle
Ausiello: As you might suspect, John Hodgman’s appearance as Chief Inspector Jonas Fischer in Monday’s episode wasn’t a one-and-done deal. Although series creator Martin Gero assures us that Agent Patterson is “professionally secure” for the time being, Fischer will be back very soon — in Episode 13, to be exact — with his eye on unseating Assistant Director Mayfair. “He’s not done with Mayfair yet,” Gero teases. “Mayfair and her past are something that we’re taking a look at all season. They all have so many secrets, and Jonas is just looking for any sort of wedge to get in there.”

Question: Will Robert Wagner return for Tony’s last episodes of NCIS? –Christopoher
Ausiello: Well, DiNozzo Sr. is for certain returning during Michael Weatherly’s farewell run, appearing in Episode 19 (which is tentatively set to air March 22).

Question: Can I have some The Big Bang Theory scoop, please? —Aleksandra
Ausiello: Sheldon and Amy’s sex life has cooled off considerably since they’reinaugural love-making session in December. “Sheldon made it pretty clear that this would be an annual event on her birthday,” explains showrunner Steve Molaro. “I don’t know what the future holds, but so far, he’s been sticking to that.” BONUS SCOOP: Howard and Bernadette’s baby-making mojo will not rub off on Leonard and Penny, confirms Molaro, who says the newlyweds are in “no rush” to start a family. Coincidentally, Molaro is in no rush for them to start a family either. “Realistically, if Penny and Leonard had a baby,” he says, “that baby would start to alter the DNA of the show a lot more dramatically than Howard and Bernadette’s.”

When asked about how Michael Weatherly will be written out of NCIS today at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, Glenn Geller said that it is unlikely and there are no current plans to have Tony DiNozzo ride off into the sunset with Ziva, nor to bring back Côte de Pablo to resurrect her character on the show.

The exit of Weatherly is currently being worked on by the writing team and it appears that his character will not be directly replaced as he is somewhat irreplaceable.  Instead there are two new characters being developed that will likely be introduced this season (Season 13) on the series.

“I will definitely miss, as I’m sure the fans will too … and my mother … very special agent Tony DiNozzo. His decision was his, it was a creative one. He had been in the role for 13 years. I completely understand that and I wish him well,” Geller continued.

As more plans unfold on how Weatherly will be written out, we will report on any story arc related to his departure that is revealed.  Stay tuned….

Michael Weatherly will be leaving CBS’ hit drama NCIS at the end of Season 13.   Weatherly was one of the original cast members of the crime drama series, playing Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo,  and he was a fan favorite.  He will be sorely missed.  Weatherly brought a lot of humor to the show as shown in the clip below (courtesy of CBS Broadcasting, Inc.)

“After 13 years on NCIS, Michael Weatherly is leaving the show at the end of this season,” CBS stated. “He is a valued part of the CBS family, and the immense charm and talent he brings to the screen as ‘Very’ Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has helped make NCIS what it is today – the No. 1 drama in the world. We thank Michael for all of his contributions to this successful franchise and look forward to continuing to develop projects with him as part of our ongoing development deal.”

Weatherly also confirmed his plan to leave the show by writing, “DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character & I couldn’t have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons. Les Moonves & CBS gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. I will miss the amazing crew and cast, who are like family to me, and to the fans all over the world — THANK YOU, it’s been a fantastic ride!”

David McCullum (Ducky on the popular series) revealed Weatherly’s impending departure in an question and answer session he held with United Kingdom’s Vulture Hound Magazine, saying “DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, we’ve told people a long time ago, is leaving at the end of the season. So the writers have to decide what to do when one of the four members of the original cast leaves.

We along with fans are curious how the writers will have DiNozzo bow out of the show.   This season has introduced several possible ideas already, including discussions about leadership and whether he wanted to be a “Gibbs” and also about family and whether he wanted to settle down and have a family.  Our hope is that they don’t kill off DiNozzo so that if things worked out with the show and with Weatherly, he could do guest appearances now and again.

We wish Weatherly well in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing him in new projects.

Stay tuned, we are sure more is coming to this story….

In the meantime here is a clip of a song by Weatherly called “Under the Sun” that came out in 2014 (courtesy of CBS Broadcasting, Inc.):
