AMHERST — Hometown charm and Hollywood flair roll the cameras in a comedy feature directed by Bryan Buckley and shot in June and July in Amherst.
The movie, “The Bronze,” is co-written by Melissa Rauch, who plays the lead role, and her husband, Winston Beigel.
The story revolves around a former world-class gymnast who competed while injured and won a bronze medal, said Michael Cuddy, 49, line producer and unit production manager for “The Bronze.”
“All of America falls in love with her,” Cuddy said. “The glory has faded. She’s still living in that.”
The movie cast includes five main characters and about a dozen supporting cast members.
Rauch also plays Bernadette on a situation comedy, “The Big Bang Theory,” Cuddy said.
