The 2016 British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) Awards ceremony for Television was held at the Royal Feestival Hall in London, United Kingdom on Sunday, 8 May 2016. The star-studded event was attended by both large and small screen celebrities and power houses.
BBC’s Wolf Hall took home the Drama Series and Lead Actor in a Drama Series or Mini-Series (going to Mark Rylance) awards, and This is England ’90 took home the Mini-series and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama or Mini-Series awards (going to Chanel Cresswell).
In the International Series award categrory, Neflix’ Transparent came home with the trophy, with lead actor Jeffrey Tambor graciously accepting the award.
Some of the esteemed guests that appeared at the event besides Rylance, Cresswell and Tambor included Anna Kendrick, Archie Panjabi, Hugh Bonneville, Idris Elba, Kunal Nayyar, Justin Timberlake, Maisie Williams, Martin Freeman, and Tom Hiddleston.
