TVLand announced today that they will not be having a seventh season for Hot in Cleveland. They will finish out season six and that will be the last of the series.
They are moving away from traditional ‘older’ multi-camera shows and leaning more to younger, single-camera productions.
Hot in Cleveland had a reasonable size audience, but had been slipping in the demo ratings. It had two spin-offs that are still in production – The Soul Man and The Exes.
“It’s been an honor to work with Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and the incomparable Betty White as well as our executive producers Suzanne Martin, Todd Milliner, Sean Hayes and the rest of our exceptional writers, production team and crew,” said TV Land President Larry W. Jones.
Hot in Cleveland hit a major milestone earlier this year, reaching 100 episodes and it is now sold into 210 territories in broadcast syndication. Quite an achievement for sitcoms.
