The following is summarized from a fan that attended the taping tonight and she asked to be anonymous (at least for now), but granted permission for us to write up the content. We thank her for the information!
The cold open is about the boys talking about getting tickets to the Star Wars premiere, but Sheldon learns it is Amy’s birthday the same day. So Sheldon seeks the advice of Professor Proton (his apparition) who tells him to stick with his girlfriend. Sheldon then seeks the advice of Penny and Bernadette, who are happy to learn that Sheldon and Amy are back together, on what would be the ideal birthday present for her. He gives them three suggestions; Amy play the harp at the Philharmonic, Amy go to a wool convnetion since she likes knitting, or coitus with Amy. Penny breaks the wine glass in her hand as he mentions the third option and asks if he is ready, which he says he believes he is. Talking with Professor Proton, he, scared and overwhelmed, admits he is afraid of ruining everything and if its with the right person, it will be fine. Sheldon admitted he was ready and wants Amy to know how he feels about her.
The day of Amy’s birthday arrives and Sheldon has a very special evening planned for her. He gives up seeing the Star Wars premiere in favor of romancing her. At Amy’s apartment, he has candles lit around her living room and is sitting on the couch. He arrived with flowers for her.
He asks her if getting physical was okay. She kisses him passionately and he wants verbal confirmation from her which she gives. She admits to being nervous though as she does not know what to expect with it being her first time.
Sheldon replies back to Amy that they would “find out together.” So they begin to hug and kiss.
Sheldon is in her bed, when Amy comes to the room nervous and he reminders her that they would find out together. They begin to kiss passionately in bed.
Returning from a scene break, we see the aftermath of the bed all ruffled up, both “topless” and laying in bed holding hands, both kind of shocked. Sheldon admits that he enjoyed it more than he thought he would. Amy’s hair is messy. Amy lays her head on Sheldon’s chest (after rolling over) and beings to hug him and he hugs her back. They just laid there, topless, together in bed, cuddling. It was “perfect” according to attendees at the taping.
