Riki Lindholme as Natasha Leggero in ‘Another Period’ on Comedy Central Photo: on Instagram
EXCLUSIVE: Comedy Central’s 10-episode series Another Period, a send-up of turn-of-the-century Newport, Rhode Island high society, has added a string of comedic castmembers. As previously reported by Deadline back in June, the series revolves around Newport’s first family, the Bellacourts and sisters Lillian and Beatrice, respectively played by Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome, whose characters care only about how they look, what parties they attend and becoming famous. Joining Another Period is David Koechner (Anchorman 2), Brian Huskey (ABC’s Selfie, Matt Walsh’s A Better You), David Wain (EP Childrens Hospital, director of Wanderlust), and Lauren Ash (Super Fun Night). Chris Parnell will also guest star. Koechner will portray the patriarch of the family, Commodore Bellacourt. Huskey is Victor, Lillian’s prone-to-rage-violent husband who is carrying on an affair with Beatrice’s hubby Albert played by Wain. Ash plays Hortense, Lillian and Beatrice’s weird sister. As previously reported by Deadline, Michael Ian Black, Paget Brewster, Beth Dover, Brett Gelman, Jason Ritter and Armen Weitzman round out the cast of Another Period. Black will portray Peepers, the persnickety head butler with a dark secret, Brewster plays the matriarch Dodo Bellacourt; Ritter is Lillian and Beatrice’s illiterate brother Lord Frederick, the heir to the family fortune; Weitzman plays Garfield the under butler while Dover is Blanche, the head housemaid who suffers from nervous disorder and dreams of one day working in a factory. Gelman portrays Hamish, the disgruntled outwoodsman tending to Bellacourt Manor. Another Period is written and executive produced by Leggero and Lindhome, executive produced and directed by Jeremy Konner (“Drunk History”) and executive produced by Red Hour’s Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein.

Criminal Minds scoop! — John
Need some relationship updates? Morgan’s lady Savannah will return in the seventh episode and they’re “still going strong,” according to executive producer Erica Messer. We’ll meet one of Rossi’s old flames — his second wife — in a flashback in Episode 9. “In the middle of the season, Rossi has a couple of interesting episodes that will help you understand him and we thought this was a good way to tell a story without always bringing people in [in the present],” Messer says.
Anything but conventional, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ actress is also a neuroscientist and mom who embraces a natural approach to health.
by Allan Richter, October 2014
Photo: Repost from energytimes.com
Mayim Bialik found fame in the title role of the 1990s sitcom “Blossom,” and grew up to play one of America’s favorite scientists, Dr. Amy Fowler—a role that has garnered her three Emmy nominations—on the current hit, “The Big Bang Theory.” Along the way, Bialik, 38, took other career paths that make it all but impossible to call her conventional.
She has authored Beyond the Sling (Touchstone), about attachment parenting, a style of raising children that calls for a strong emotional connection between parent and child, and Mayim’s Vegan Table (Da Capo), a collection of some of the recipes with which she helps support her healthy lifestyle. And if you doubt her credentials in either of these areas, consider her neuroscience degree (art and life intersecting) and her longtime affinity for holistic approaches to health.
“I fell in love with science when I was 15,” Bialik says. “I had a biology tutor when I was on the set of ‘Blossom,’ and she was the one who gave me the skillset and the confidence to go on to a degree in neuroscience. ‘Blossom’ ended when I was two years out of high school, and I wanted to pursue a life of science.”
When her studies took Bialik to UCLA, she began to hear different perspectives on health. “I started adopting an alternative and naturopathic approach to healthcare, which worked really well for me. I was in college, but I cut out dairy and have not had a sinus infection since.”
The Big Bang Theory led the evening in ratings with 16.18 Mil total viewers (early numbers reported) and for the 18-49 adults 4.7/15 ratings points/share in their first half hour. The second half hour was a repeat from Season 7 and took in 12.32 Mil viewers with a 3.1/9 ratings points/share for the 18-49 adults.
Scorpion came in, following a repeat show of The Big Bang Theory, and still maintained 12.32 Mil viewers with a 3.0/8 ratings point/share for adults 18-49. See chart below for overview.

THR: ‘Big Bang Theory’ Star, Husband Sell Wedding Comedy to CBS (EXCLUSIVE)
Melissa and Winston Rauch will co-write ‘If We’re Not Married by 30’
CBS and studio Warner Bros. Television are keeping the cast of The Big Bang Theory busy.
Co-star MelissaRauch, who plays Howard’s wife, Bernadette, on TV’s No. 1 comedy, is teaming with her husband for a comedy set up at CBS, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The network has handed out a script commitment to multicamera comedy If We’re Not Married by 30, which Rauch and her husband/writing partner, Winston Rauch, will co-pen. The Warner Bros. Television comedy centers on a guy who comes to collect on a pre-teen promise made by his childhood best friend — whom he hasn’t seen in more than a decade.
Melissa and Winston Rauch, who will co-executive produce the comedy, also co-wrote Sony Pictures Worldwide’s feature filmThe Bronze. The duo — with Mark and JayDuplass — also exec produced the film, in which the Big Bang Theory actress starred as a foul-mouthed former gymnastics bronze medalist who must fight for her local celebrity status when a young athlete’s star rises in town
What becomes a legendary comedy most? Laughs, of course. Oscar Madison saying “F.U. Took me three hours to figure out F.U. was Felix Ungar!” — why, I’ll bet you laughed just remembering the first time you heard that line from The Odd Couple.
Did any writers understand more perfectly how to extract laughs from an audience than George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart? None put preposterous people in ordinary situations, and ordinary people in preposterous situations, more knowingly than Kaufman and Hart, for whom the term situation comedy might as well have been invented. From the first category came arguably their best collaboration, You Can’t Take It With You, which opened on Broadway in 1936 and was memorably filmed by Frank Capra two years later with a cast that included Lionel Barrymore, Jean Arthur, James Stewart and Ann Miller.
In the overpopulated, lavishly eccentric home of Martin Vanderhof live his playwright daughter and fireworks making son-in-law; their two grown daughters — one a would-be ballerina who, after eight years of training shows no evidence of either advancement or talent; the other a working woman at a Wall Street bank — the cook and her live-in boyfriend; and the odd hanger-on passing through the nightly display of noisy errant cherry bombs, play readings, exotic dancing and general doing of one’s thing.
Grandfather Vanderhof, played in the new revival at the Longacre Theatre by James Earl Jones, walked out on his day job 35 years ago and has devoted himself to collecting snakes, improving his darts game, attending commencement exercises and avoiding income tax. His working granddaughter Alice, played in her Broadway debut by Rose Byrne, of Damages and the current This Is Where I Leave You, has fallen in love with Tony Kirby (Fran Kranz) the well-groomed son of her extremely prim and proper boss. What will happen when the Kirbys come for dinner? A very comical situation indeed that will also include a Russian dance instructor, several G-men and, for good measure, a very drunk actress and a Russian countess, the last two played by the great Julie Halston and the greater Elizabeth Ashley respectively.
