The Los Angeles Film Festival is currently well underway (held June 10-18, 2015) and the stars are coming out to participate at the festival. CBS stars are among those present including Criminal Minds‘ Matthew Gray Gubler, Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist, and NCIS: Los Angeles‘ Eric Christian Olsen.
Gubler, Benoist and Olsen attended to highlight the film Band of Robbers in which both co-star.
Band of Robbers is co-written and co-directed by Aaron Nee and Adam Nee, is about Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn who are grown men, still searching for the hidden treasure that has eluded them since childhood. When Huck is released from prison he hopes to leave his criminal past behind. But his lifelong friend and corrupt cop, Tom, has other plans, having formed the Band of Robbers, a group of misfits dedicated to locating the hidden treasure that eluded the boys in childhood.
The film is produced by Torn Sky Entertainment and stars Kyle Gallner (American Sniper) as Huck Finn, Adam Nee (The Last Romantic) as Tom Sawyer, with Gubler playing Joe Harper, Olsen playing Sid Sawyer and Melissa Benoist( Supergirl, Whiplash) as Becky Thatcher.
Band of Robbers officially released June 13, 2015 at the festival in the United States territory. Band of Robbers screened at the Regal Cinemas in Los Angeles on June 13, 2015 where the trio were present for the screening and a Q&A session that followed.
