In many markets due to air time differences being placed up against the Grammy’s, last night cable networks had a challenge ahead of them to garner audiences, but not so with AMC Networks. The premiere of Better Call Saul pulled in a very strong 6.6 Mil total viewers with 4.4 Mil in the key demo, making it the top demo result for a series premiere in cable history. Better Call Saul had a higher result than it’s sequel show Breaking Bad which drew in 1.4 Mil total viewers when it premiered in 2008. The premiere of the final season of Breaking Bad drew in 2.93 Mil at the season start and mid-season split final ahd 5.92 Mil viewers. The finale of the series brought in 10.28 Mil.
The Walking Dead also held strong against the Grammy’s with an 10.4 Million in the demo (an 8.0 rating) and 15.8 Mil total viewers, a hit for the mid-season return of the show.
