A possible threat of explosives has been reported and is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad. The explosives are said to be near the intersection of Hollywood & Highland, close to where the 87th Annual Academy Awards are due to be held this Sunday.
Stopping a reckless driver earlier today, an LAPD spokesperson said that the driver admitted he may have had explosives in his trunk. Nothing has been verified by Officials as to whether the vehicle contained explosives or not.

Based on the above tweet, at the intersection of Yucca and Highland, a water cannon was shot at the explosive (as a measure to handle it), and that caused a loud noise.
Currently, while investigations continue, Hollywood & Highland are closed. Journalists have been picking up their Oscar credentials at the site of the Oscars today and setting up for the ceremonies has been underway all week. No word yet as to how pre-Oscar logistics are being impacted. Stay tuned…we will update as more news breaks!
