In a visually stunning 3D IMAX® film, Secrets of the Universe will highlight current excitement in the world of particle physics surrounding the Large Hadron Collider and the potential discoveries that await. Simon Helberg who plays Howard Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory, will be narrating the film, rather amusing when you consider he plays the only engineer out of the four scientists on the show (as opposed to his fellow cast-mates who all plays physicists).
Helberg will lead the audience to to the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland where the Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) scientists perform breakthrough discoveries through their exploration of the universe and its origins.
Stephen Low, through his Canadian Stephen Low Productions, is an IMAX® filmmaker who is producing Secrets of the Universe along with K2 Communications, attempting to tackle many of mankind’s questions such as how did the universe begin; where is our world and universe heading; why can we see less than 10% of the universe, are there extra dimensions and how many dimensions; are there parallel universes; and more?
According to Helberg, “When K2 approached me to narrate the film, I was thrilled at the opportunity to engage audiences and hopefully educate children on such an important area of science. I can only imagine how tall I’d look on a giant Imax screen in 3D, but just hearing my booming, masculine voice will have to suffice.”
Slated for an early 2017 release, K2 Communications will distribute the film to IMAX® theaters. K2 Commuincations is a leading independent documentary film studio and distrbutor for IMAX® format films.
Through a step-wise distribution plan, Secrets of the Universe will show in the most prestigious science centers and museums along with a theatrical roll-out to be followed by a home video, television and ancillary format release.
