CBS Studios International continues to beef up its NCIS and CSI global franchises, with the latest spinoffs, NCIS: New Orleans and CSI: Cyber being licensed in more than 200 territories.
Those foreign broadcast networks snapping up NCIS: New Orleans include M6 in France, Prosiebensat.1 Group in Germany, Channel 5 in the UK, RAI in Italy, Shaw in Canada, Network Ten in Australia, Fox International Channels in Asia and Prime TV in New Zealand. As part of UK’s Channel 5 exclusive free-to-air TV rights deal, the network has licensing rights to future seasons of NCIS.
Those overseas networks licensing CSI: Cyber include Channel 5 in the UK, Media Group RTL in Germany, Bell in Canada, Network Ten in Australia, AXN in Latin America and Asia and Prime TV in New Zealand. Sony Pictures Television Networks, Latin America acquired the rights to not only just CSI: Cyber, but CBS’ other frosh fall season show as well, Scorpion. Both will join Sony’s AXN Latin American channels lineup next year.
