The audience of 800 ticket holders in The Carlu , a historic multi-function special event venue, heard Bialik speak about “her upbringing, her Jewish background and the seven Jewish values that kept her sane in Hollywood,” noted Rachel Velsher who attended the event. The fundraising campaign raised over $53 million to benefit community programs supported by the organization. Included in the event was a fireside chat moderated by Erica Ehm publisher of the Yummy Mummy Club who had asked for questions from fans in the twitter-sphere on the morning of the event.

While specific questions from the interview were not reported those responding with impressions on the evening said that it was “one of celebration of success and unity”. They found Mayim Bialik to be “smart, funny, self-deprecating and compassionate” who was encouraging of the hard work of the organization. Meridith Rangle summarized that she found Bialik to be “a real person with real values trying to pursue her acting career and raise family the best she can.”
