MAYIM BIALIK AND TEEN CELEBRITY SUPPORTERS ANNOUNCE FABLAB, THE FIRST SCIENCE TELEVISION SERIES AIMED AT ‘TWEEN AND TEEN GIRLS, FROM THE PRODUCERS OF THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS FABLAB IS A NEW APPROACH TO ENGAGING ‘TWEEN AND TEEN GIRLS IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATH (STEM), BROADCAST NATIONALLY ON WEEKEND MORNINGS
Los Angeles (March 3, 2016) — FabLab is the first and only science television series aimed at bringing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) to the under-reached ‘tween and teen girl demographic. The series airs nationally (check local listings) and is seen in over 80 million homes weekend mornings as part of Xploration Station’s Educational and Informational STEM block of programming. Five hosts bring STEM alive and help show the teen and ‘tween viewers that STEM solves problems, changes lives, and in short, makes the world better. The hosts are Kerri Doherty, popular on YouTube for her comedic approach to all things geeky; Cara Santa Maria, a hipster science broadcaster; newcomer Aysia Bell; Madi Vorva, a Teen Choice Pro-Social award winner; and the sole male host, Nick Uhas, a former Big Brother contestant and a YouTube science guru. Celebrity co-hosts and guests will populate the series, each week taped in a new locale to augment that week’s topic.
Several announcements were made from a press conference at The Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles today. There are exciting interactive elements on the TV show and surrounding FabLab digital channels including:
• Mayim Bialik’s “Ask Mayim” weekly Q&A segment allows kids across the country to send in any questions about science or technology and get answers from the biggest name in science entertainment, seamlessly combining humor and information.

• The debut of FabLab News on the FabLab YouTube Channel where it is shown how Science, Tech and Innovation are helping to solve the biggest issues of the day.
• FabLab is encouraging kids across the country to vote online for the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest, seeking the coolest science project to help to make their communities better places. “Young students today are really thinking about how they can make the world a better place, and the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest can help guide them,” said Andrew Bowins, vice president of Corporate Reputation at Samsung Electronics America. “The contest challenges students to use their STEM skills to solve a problem in their community. We believe it encourages them to grow as students as well as neighbors, and we are excited to partner with FabLab. The program shows kids that there are even more opportunities to use STEM in the real world.”
• Lenovo FabFinder national science talent search launches today to find guest reporters and hosts to appear on FabLab; students should go to www.fablabtv.com to learn how to submit videos to enter. “This talent search gives young women a chance to showcase their interest in STEM and to connect with the next generation of STEM leaders. Lenovo is proud to support a search to identify and tap into more diverse STEM talent,” said Yolanda Conyers, vice president of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer for Lenovo.
Mayim (The Big Bang Theory) said, “As a neuroscientist who was encouraged to enter the field in high school, getting girls involved in science (or STEM ) is a personal passion of mine. Through my interactive ‘Ask Mayim’ segment, I hope to get more young women excited about getting into the field that I love so much.”
Some influential believers who have offered to lend their support through their enormous social media networks include Leonardo DiCaprio, Amandla Steinberg, and Karlie Kloss. The teen stars who showed their enthusiasm at the press conference are Katherine McNamara (The Shadow Hunters), Brec Bassinger (Bella and the Bulldogs), Kelli Berglund (Lab Rats), Paris Berelc (Lab Rats), Chloe Lukasiak (Teen Choice Awards winner), Chantel Jeffries (Club Noir), and Roshon Fegan (Disney Channel). Little-known fact about some of your favorite stars –they have a background in or passion for science. That impressive list includes Seth McFarlane, Danica McKellar, Natalie Portman, Alan Alda, Lisa Kudrow, Ashton Kutcher, will.i.am, Zooey Deschanel, Daryl Hannah and Eva Longoria, to name a few.
FabLab has one mission: to get girls enthused about STEM by drawing the connections between STEM innovations and making the world a better place. Why? Studies have shown that illustrating how STEM inventions and breakthroughs have the power to change the world for the better, really motivating young women to engage with the sciences. FabLab is produced in partnership with the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). The show also partners with 15 additional organizations inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
“We are thrilled to partner with FabLab for the launch of the show,” said Elizabeth English, Head of School at The Archer School for Girls. “We know that STEM is the fastest-growing professional sector with the highest paying jobs. We also know that these fields hold the key to solving some of our world’s most pressing problems, and as such demand a plurality of perspectives. Archer is proud to stand at the forefront of advancing girls in STEM and to be working toward a future where women are not only contributors to STEM solutions but leaders in the field.”
It is a myth that girls don’t gravitate to STEM. Statistics support the fact that 74% of girls show at least as much interest as boys in the sciences. High school girls, in particular, surpass the percentage of boys interested in Algebra II and Calculus, for example. But along the way, young women tend to be drawn to fields that have social impact and make a difference. FabLab is highlighting amazing STEM discoveries that are mind-blowing and world-changing to help reframe STEM and allow young women to see those fields as a creative outlet for improving their world. FabLab isn’t just reaching the audience on the television show; it will have an active and innovative online and digital presence with exclusive programming for its own YouTube channel and interactivity through social media, all driving home the same message of STEM making the world better for people, pets and the planet.
Corporate partners who share the vision and have jumped on board to assist in attracting girls to science, technology and innovation include Samsung Electronics America, Lenovo, Motorola Mobility Foundation, Ally Bank, Brocade and L’Oréal USA. “Inspiring the next generation of girls in
STEM is a key component of the L’Oréal USA For Women in Science program,” said Lauren Paige, L’Oréal USA’s Vice President of Public Affairs & Strategic Initiatives. “We are proud to partner with FabLab and look forward to featuring the exciting work of our For Women in Science fellows to help encourage girls to explore scientific careers.”

Melissa & Winston Rauch Image: Jeff Vespa/GettyImages
The duo-writing team of Melissa Rauch and Winston Rauch who will be premiering their film, The Bronze, in West Hollywood on March 7 and opening domestically on March 18 are now finding another project in the works that has been picked up by CBS and Warner Bros. Television.
The Big Bang Theory star and her husband, are co-writing a new multi-camera comedy, If We’re Not Married by 30, about a guy who comes to collect on a pre-teen promise made by his childhood best friend — whom he hasn’t seen in more than a decade. CBS ordered a script commitment, which will be produced with Warner Bros. Television.
The Bronze, created, written and executive produced with the Duplass brothers (Mark and Jay Duplass) will be opening in theaters around the nation March 18 stars The Big Bang Theory actress who plays a foul-mouthed former gymnastics bronze medalist who must fight for her local celebrity status when a young athlete’s star rises in town.
The Rauch’s won outstanding solo show at the New York International Fringe Festival with their 2005 comedy stage show The Miss Education of Jenna Bush. The comedy also had an extended run via HBO US Comedy Arts Festival and at the Coronet Theater.
Rauch isn’t the only Big Bang star to have projects being developed for CBS. Fellow cast-mate Kevin Sussman, who plays Stuart Bloom on the comedy hit, teaming with CBS for Sony Pictures Television’s multi-camera comedy Wife of Crime, about a straight-laced guy from Staten Island who marries into an Italian family with ties to the mob and finds himself drawn to the warmth of his new crime family. Jim Parsons is another cast mate that has a project that has a script order out on it from CBS. Parsons, through his shingle That’s Wonderful Productions at Warner Bros., Untitled Alyssa Shelasky Project centers on an optimistic and independent woman nearing 40 with an eccentric and supportive family (all of whom live in her building), based on Alyssa Shelasky’s book .

As previously reported, Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant co-star in Florence Foster Jenkins as does The Big Bang Theory’s Simon Helberg.
Florence Foster Jenkins is a biopic about a titular character (Streep) who is wealthy and was dubbed the “worst vocalist of all time.” The film takes place in the mid to late 1800’s. Jenkins had grand illusions of becoming an opera singer, but had no vocal skills or talent. But she fell in love with St. Clair Bayfield, who is a Shakspearean actor played by Hugh Grant. Bayfield takes on Jenkins as his client by becoming her agent and she becomes his “common-law” wife.
Meryl Streep has performed various roles which require vocal talent and has a beautiful voice. Taking on the role of Jenkins created a challenge for her, she basically had to learn how to suck at singing to do the role. As always, the veteran actress delivers and we trust that her voice will again return to beautiful outside of this film project.
Florence Foster Jenkins hails from Paramount Pictures and will be released in the the following European countries on the following dates:
United Kingdom Apr 23, 2016(Belfast Film Festival)
United Kingdom May 6, 2016
Croatia Jun 2, 2016
Bulgaria Jun 3, 2016
Portugal Jun 24, 2016
Estonia Jul 8, 2016
Netherlands Aug 31, 2016
Germany Nov 24, 2016
If it moves to the USA market, we will let you know the date as soon as one has been set.
New Public Service Announcement Will Air Following Special Episode of “Mom” on Thursday, Feb. 18
CBS, Warner Bros. Television and the hit comedy series MOM are teaming up with the U.S. Surgeon General to raise awareness of the addiction epidemic through a new CBS Cares public service announcement. The 30-second PSA, featuring U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy and MOM stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney, will debut after the MOM episode “Diabetic Lesbians and a Blushing Bride,” Thursday, Feb. 18 (9:01-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
“I’m proud to partner with CBS Cares and the cast and crew of MOM. Together, we want to raise awareness about an epidemic that is having a devastating impact on communities throughout our country,” said U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy. “Drug overdoses kill more Americans than car crashes – a reminder that everyone struggling with addiction needs access to treatment, compassion and support.”
MOM follows the story of Christy (Faris) and Bonnie Plunkett (Janney), a mother and daughter in recovery, along with their support group from AA. The series has received critical acclaim for its portrayal of those recovering from addiction, as well as other serious topics, in a humorous and sensitive manner. The episode airing on Feb. 18 tackles the serious consequences of opiate addiction.
“We are proud to have worked with the U.S. Surgeon General on this PSA, and hope it provides help to all those suffering from addiction,” said MOM executive producer Chuck Lorre.
The goal of the PSA is to bring awareness to the alarming rates of overdose deaths and encourages anyone struggling with addiction to call the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357). This is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year information service in English and Spanish for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance abuse disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information. Those in need can also visit http://findtreatment.samhsa.gov for treatment locations.
To learn more about the prescription opioid and heroin epidemic or to find treatment options for patients, family or friends, visit the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at www.hhs.gov/opioids.

Kunal Nayyar and crew arrive at Pebble Beach for the AT&T Pro-Am Tournament. Image:
On of the most exciting golf events of the year for the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) is the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament. The contest, pitting amateur celebrity golfers against professional golfers, takes place over three of Monterey Peninsula’s premier golf courses – Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore – played in front of over 150,000 spectators on the courses and millions of television viewers. All proceeds from the event benefit Monterey Bay charities.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am began in 1937 and has become one of the most intentionally recognized stops on the PGA Tour. The event provides Monterey Peninsula Foundation grant programs which support hundreds of nonprofit organizations, which in the year 2015-2015 donated $9.1 Mil to support local charities that benefit the community in the focus areas of Arts & Culture, Community & Environment, Education, Health & Human Services and Youth. They fund the areas of Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito counties in Central California with limited grants to organizations in Northern California.
This week the Pro-Am begins with practice runs on February 8-10, and the first round to begin on Thrusday Feb 11. The tournament wraps up on Sunday, February 14. There is a celebrity challenge on February 10th at 11 AM where the top celebs pay for the charity of their choice and again at 3 PM top celebrities play for the charity of their choice.
This year celebrities include: Chris Berman, Carson Daly, Josh Donaldson, Tom Dreesen, Josh Duhamel, Larry Fitzgerald, Colt Ford, Kenny G, Andy Garcia, Wayne Gretzky, Jim Harbaugh, Toby Keith, Thomas Keller, Huey Lewis, Gary Mule Deer, Bill Murray, Kunal Nayyar, Chris O’Donnell, Jake Owen, Alfonso Ribeiro, Aaron Rodgers, Ray Romano, Joe Don Rooney, Kelly Slater, Alex Smith, Larry the Cable Guy, Justin Timberlake, Mark Wahlberg, Clay Walker, and Steve Young.
Last year Brandt Snedeker won the Tournament with a score of 265, making it his seventh PGA Tour victory. Will he be able to defend his title this year or will another victor emerge?
The tournaments will be covered by NBC on Feb 11 (12-3 PM PT), and Feb 12 (12-3 PM PT) and on CBS Feb 13 (12-3 PM PT) and Feb 14 (12-3 PM PT). Check your local listings as there may be stations owned by both networks where the tournament may air as well.
Hoping for a out on the golf course

The Big Bang Theory‘s Mayim Bialik appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden tonight and showed a completely fun side of herself. In fact she surprised fans with how fun she could be. Below is a sample clip from the show, where she flashes Piers Morgan after a conversation about his comment regarding the outfit Susan Sarandon chose to wear to the Screen Actors Guild Awards recently.
Boris Kodjoe has joined the CBS medical drama CODE BLACK in a recurring role. Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 3, Kodjoe will portray Dr. Will Campbell, a suave surgeon whose surgical skills and personal charm are only outweighed by his ego. As Dr. Campbell works more closely with the doctors in the ER, tension builds between him and Dr. Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey), as they compete to prove who is the better surgeon.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Boris Kodjoe join the CODE BLACK family,” said Executive Producer Michael Seitzman. “He comes in as Dr. Will Campbell, a well-respected surgeon with an arrogant edge. He’s a character viewers will love, but also love to hate.”
Kodjoe is best known for his role in the television series “Soul Food.” The show earned him three NAACP Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor. His other television credits include the series “Second Time Around,” “Last Man on Earth,” “Undercovers,” “For Your Love,” “Franklin & Bash,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Crossing Jordan,” “Eve” and “Boston Public.” Currently, he can be seen in “The Real Husbands of Hollywood,” which has earned him two NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Last summer, Kodjoe and his wife, actress Nicole Ari Parker, took on a new role as daytime talk show hosts in “The Boris & Nicole Show.” It had a four-week run in more than 20 markets, including New York and Los Angeles. Michael Weatherly will be leaving CBS’ hit drama NCIS at the end of Season 13. Weatherly was one of the original cast members of the crime drama series, playing Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo, and he was a fan favorite. He will be sorely missed. Weatherly brought a lot of humor to the show as shown in the clip below (courtesy of CBS Broadcasting, Inc.)
“After 13 years on NCIS, Michael Weatherly is leaving the show at the end of this season,” CBS stated. “He is a valued part of the CBS family, and the immense charm and talent he brings to the screen as ‘Very’ Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has helped make NCIS what it is today – the No. 1 drama in the world. We thank Michael for all of his contributions to this successful franchise and look forward to continuing to develop projects with him as part of our ongoing development deal.”
Weatherly also confirmed his plan to leave the show by writing, “DiNozzo is a wonderful, quixotic character & I couldn’t have had more fun playing him over the past 13 seasons. Les Moonves & CBS gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. I will miss the amazing crew and cast, who are like family to me, and to the fans all over the world — THANK YOU, it’s been a fantastic ride!”

David McCullum (Ducky on the popular series) revealed Weatherly’s impending departure in an question and answer session he held with United Kingdom’s Vulture Hound Magazine, saying “DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, we’ve told people a long time ago, is leaving at the end of the season. So the writers have to decide what to do when one of the four members of the original cast leaves.
We along with fans are curious how the writers will have DiNozzo bow out of the show. This season has introduced several possible ideas already, including discussions about leadership and whether he wanted to be a “Gibbs” and also about family and whether he wanted to settle down and have a family. Our hope is that they don’t kill off DiNozzo so that if things worked out with the show and with Weatherly, he could do guest appearances now and again.
We wish Weatherly well in his future endeavors and look forward to seeing him in new projects.
Stay tuned, we are sure more is coming to this story….
In the meantime here is a clip of a song by Weatherly called “Under the Sun” that came out in 2014 (courtesy of CBS Broadcasting, Inc.):
Jim Parsons, along with Susan Lucci and Jamie Lynn Sigler will be guest starring on the January 3rd Mid-Season Premiere for Season 8 of theLong Island Medium, starring Theresa Caputo. Mayim Bialik appeared on Hollywood Today Live to promote her new film ‘The Flight Before Christmas‘ and also talked about the steamy upcoming scenes in the December 17th episode of The Big Bang Theory. She also briefly talked about the differences of being on The Big Bang Theory today versus playing Blossom in the 1990’s.
Bialik replied “lots of fried potatoes and onions” when asked about what her holidays look like, showing her brilliant sense of timing and humor. She shared how her boys celebrate their holidays and how her boys get to celebrate both Chanukah and Christmas, the latter with their grandfather.
See clip below for the interview, courtesy of Hollywood Today Live.
The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar joined Ellen Degeneres on The Ellen Show, December 1 and talked about his recent trip to Italy, and his book Yes, My Accent is Real and The Big Bang Theory. He talked about how Big Bang Theory was one of his first auditions.

Mayim Bialik & Ryan McPartlin Behind-The-Scenes of ‘The Flight Before Christmas’ airing on Lifetime TV starting December 5, 2015.
The Big Bang Theory‘s Mayim Bialik is known for many things; her parenting advice, being a breast-feeding advocate, a vegan, an authoress, a Ph.D. in neuroscience, a STEM adovcate, a beloved actress who made Blossom an icon and now Amy Farrah Fowler one as well, a charitable heart and most of all a Jewish woman who has embraced her faith and its traditions. So it may seem odd that Mayim recently had to embrace Christmas as part of a role she played in a new film coming out on Lifetime TV on December 5th called The Flight Before Christmas.
See the Production Journal of the A Flight Before Christmas (formerly known as Accidental Trip)
We have written several articles and included a production journal (see above link) on the film while it was being made, but now you can get further behind-the-scenes perspective on the film. Grok Nation, a site that Bialik started to allow more deeper discussions and knowledge on various topics sparked by posts from Bialik herself and guest contributors, has recently published two articles that take fans to learn more about Bialik’s journey as well as the Jewish screenplay writer of the film’s journey to make a Christmas film. You don’t want to miss their recent posts on Grok Nation. Check out the links below:

The Flight Before Christmas co-stars Ryan McPartlin with Bialik, along with Family Matters’ Reginald VelJohnson and Jo Marie Payton, and was directed by Peter L. Sullivan. The premise of the film is about a woman named Stephanie who is excited to take the next step in her relationship with her boyfriend by moving in with him. Stephanie’s plans are quickly dashed, leaving her crushed when her boyfriend instead says he wants to break up with her.
Heartbroken and not wanting to spend Christmas alone, Stephanie boards a plane and heads to Connecticut to be with family, taking a red-eye on Christmas Eve. On the flight, Stephanie is seated next to Michael(McPartlin), a man planning to propose to his college girlfriend.
Michael and Stephanie don’t quite see eye to eye at first and have a bit of a rocky start, but things turn worse when the pilot announces that a huge, unexpected snowstorm is crossing the country. The flight that the two embarked on is now re-routed to a small town in Montana.
Stephanie manages to book the last available room in the town’s bed and breakfast, leaving Michael without a place to stay. Putting aside their differences, Stephanie offers to share the room with Michael and try their best to get alone. The Flight Before Christmas airs on Lifetime TV on December 5 at various times, depending on your local region.
