Mayim Bialik & Ryan McPartlin Behind-The-Scenes of ‘The Flight Before Christmas’ airing on Lifetime TV starting December 5, 2015.

The Big Bang Theory‘s Mayim Bialik is known for many things; her parenting advice, being a breast-feeding advocate, a vegan, an authoress, a Ph.D. in neuroscience, a STEM adovcate, a beloved actress who made Blossom an icon and now Amy Farrah Fowler one as well, a charitable heart and most of all a Jewish woman who has embraced her faith and its traditions.   So it may seem odd that Mayim recently had to embrace Christmas as part of a role she played in a new film coming out on Lifetime TV on December 5th called The Flight Before Christmas.

We have written several articles and included a production journal (see above link)  on the film while it was being made, but now you can get further behind-the-scenes perspective on the film.   Grok Nation, a site that Bialik started to allow more deeper discussions and knowledge on various topics sparked by posts from Bialik herself and guest contributors, has recently published two articles that take fans to learn more about Bialik’s journey as well as the Jewish screenplay writer of the film’s journey to make a Christmas film.  You don’t want to miss their recent posts on Grok Nation.   Check out the links below:

The Flight Before Christmas co-stars Ryan McPartlin with Bialik, along with Family Matters’  Reginald VelJohnson and Jo Marie Payton, and was directed by Peter L. Sullivan.  The premise of the film is about a woman named Stephanie who is excited to take the next step in her relationship with her boyfriend by moving in with him.  Stephanie’s plans are quickly dashed, leaving her crushed when her boyfriend instead says he wants to break up with her.

Heartbroken and not wanting to spend Christmas alone, Stephanie boards a plane and heads to Connecticut to be with family, taking a red-eye on Christmas Eve.   On the flight, Stephanie is seated next to Michael(McPartlin), a man planning to propose to his college girlfriend.

Michael and Stephanie don’t quite see eye to eye at first and have a bit of a rocky start, but things turn worse when the pilot announces that a huge, unexpected snowstorm is crossing the country.  The flight that the two embarked on is now re-routed to a small town in Montana.

Stephanie manages to book the last available room in the town’s bed and breakfast, leaving Michael without a place to stay.   Putting aside their differences, Stephanie offers to share the room with Michael and try their best to get alone.
The Flight Before Christmas airs on Lifetime TV on December 5 at various times, depending on your local region.   You can also join the free trial of mylifetime.com movie club to stream the film when it is released on the 5th if you are out of the United States of America.
