Congratulations to Peyton Manning, and the Denver Broncos, for the 509 record break!   The 509th pass that led to a touchdown makes Manning NFL’s all-time touchdown king.  Manning broke the record in a game against the San Francisco 49ers, beating the previous record held by Brett Favre.   The recevier of the pass was Demaryius Thomas.

Denver Broncos led second quarter by 21 to 3.  The tight-knit team worked hard to ensure that Manning would break the record with his posse of stable catchers:  Thomas, Wes Welker, Emmanuel Sanders and tight end Julius Thomas keeping their eye on the ball and their hands securing it would cross the goal line.

“Broncos fans, you have just witnessed history,” Alan Roach said while  introducing a pre-taped video tribute that featured messages from Favre, Broncos general manager John Elway and several Broncos teammates.

Entering the game he needed two touchdowns to tie with Favre and three to break the record.   But Manning still has plenty of play left in him.  If Manning continues throwing touchdowns at the pace he set when he arrived in Denver, with 2.9 touchdowns per game, Manning will pass 600 touchdowns in 2016, and conceivably throw for more than 630 touchdowns.

History has been made and is continuing to be made!
