Last night premiere season began and it was a battle of the nerds during the early primetime hours.   But the winners of the battle were ‘The Big Bang Theory‘ and ‘Scorpion‘  who took the lead for their time slots.

The Big Bang Theory continues to defy it’s age and draw in audiences even though they were starting out their 8th Season.  Fans continue to follow them even with a schedule change (from Thursday night to Monday night; and it will move again mid-season back to Thursday night).    Fighting against NBC’s The Voice and ABC’s new highly anticipated freshman show Gotham, it still came out well in the lead, even though Gotham did well for its debut.

Scorpion, also a new kid on the block, debuted strong and took the lead for it’s time-slot as well, airing immediately after The Big Bang Theory.  Next week will be a test on whether they can hold strong and continue to lead their time-slot as The Big Bang Theory will go back to only airing one episode and there will be another comedy (The Millers)  slotted between the two shows.   Will that mean Scorpion can continue to maintain the ‘like’ audience that The Big Bang Theory draws or will they have to fine their own audience?   It remains to be seen.

Under the Dome, another CBS show, however lost out to NBC’s The Blacklist.
