The 2015 NCWIT Summit on Women and IT: practices and ideas to revolutionize computing is set for May 19-21, 2015 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Hundreds of change leaders from a vast community of educators, entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and social scientists will gather to receive research, ideas, and action items for increasing girls’ and women’s participation in computing.

Mayim Bialik, who plays the role of Amy Farrah Fowler on “The Big Bang Theory” and also holds a Ph.d. in Neuroscience from UCLA, continues her work in promoting women and girls in STEM careers, as one of the guest speakers for the Summit’s closing general session on May 21st at 11:00 a.m. EST and will be available via livestream at www.ncwit.org .

 

Dr. Bialik who is also brand Texas Instruments Brand Ambassador and Spokesperson for the TI-Nspire CX handheld and  DeVry University’s HerWorld® program whose goal is to empower high school girls to explore careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) is often a guest speaker at educational summits and conventions.  Most recently she served as keynote speaker for NTSA Convention held in Boston in April 2014 where she spoke on the topic The Power of One Teacher.
