The Off-Broadway show, The Spoils, that premiered June 2, 2015 written by Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg and performed by Eisenberg along with Kunal Nayyar, will be heading to London’s Trafalgar Studios. Both Eisenberg and Nayyar will resurrect their roles which will run from May 27 through August 1, 2016 this summer, with opening night June 2, 2016.
The Spoils is about the son of wealthy parents, Ben (Eisenberg) who has been kicked out of graduate school and lives off of his parents’ wealth. He bullies everyone in his life including his Nepalese roommate Kalyan (Nayyar). Ben learns that his former crush is about to marry a banker and he is determined to destroy their relationship and win the woman back.
The London set design will be by Derek McLane, lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski, sound design by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen, production design by Olivia Sebesky, and costumes by Susan Hiferty. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
Eisenberg, who was nominated for his performance in The Social Network for an Oscar, also wrote and appeared in The Revisionist and Asunction off-Broadway. He can most recently be seen in the Batman versus Superman hit film from Warner Bros. Nayyar is best known for his portrayal of Raj Koothrappali on The Big Bang Theory and is currently the voice behind Guy Diamond in DreamWorks Animations Trolls.
