1. Mindy Lahiri, “The Mindy Project.”

Mindy Kaling plays the rom-com loving OB/GYN Lahiri on the hit Fox show which just began its third season.
Lahiri strives to have the perfect balance between love and work all while looking fashionable and delivering fast-paced witty banter and quips with her associates, friends and various boyfriends.
Kaling delivers an outstanding performance as Lahiri who is full of funny quotes, good advice and real talk. Lahiri’s take-it-or-leave-it attitude and determination to find love no matter how or who makes her an awesome female character on TV and super fun to watch.

6. Amy Farrah Fowler, “The Big Bang Theory.”

Mayim Bialik plays the neurobiologist Fowler on the CBS comedy going into its seventh season.
Bialik’s character starts out as the Sheldon Cooper female counterpart– socially awkward, somewhat condescending, and overly rational–but Fowler integrates into the group as she evolves into a more feminine and socially comfortable person.
Fowler’s ability to handle Cooper and her enthusiasm and loyalty to her girlfriends make her an awesome female character and hilarious to watch.
