Awards season begins in full bloom starting this month with the announcement of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award nominees and the Golden Globe Award nominees. This year the SAG award nominees will be announced by actress/director/producer and SAG Award® recipient, Eva Longoria and Ansel Elgort, star of the feature films “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Divergent, on December 10, 2014 at 9 AM ET/ 6 AM PT, aired on TNT and TBS.
Ansel Elgort starred as Gus opposite Shailene Woodley’s Hazel in this summer’s hit “The Fault in Our Stars,” based on John Green’s best-selling novel. Elgort also starred in the Jason Reitman’s film “Men, Women & Children.” He will be reprising his role as Caleb Prior in “Insurgent,” the second film from the book series “Divergent,” due out in early 2015. He will also play the title role in the feature “Van Cliburn,” about the American pianist’s rise to fame during the Cold War. He began his film career with a co-starring role in the 2013 remake of “Carrie.”
Golden Globe-nominated, Screen Actors Guild Award-winning, ALMA Award-winning actress, and Variety’s 2014 “Top 5 Actresses,” producer, director, entrepreneur, philanthropist and “Desperate Housewives” alum, Eva Longoria has made herself a trusted name both in front and behind the camera. Longoria is founder of “The Eva Longoria Foundation” dedicated to helping Latinas build better futures for themselves through education and entrepreneurship; co-founder of “Eva’s Heroes,” which enriches the lives of adolescents with developmental disabilities; and is national spokesperson for “Padres Contra el Cancer,” a nonprofit that is committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer.
