International Comic-Con Convention will convene in the halls of the San Diego Convention Center, beginning with a Preview Night on Wednesday, July 8th and with four days of the event that runs from Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12, 2015.  Badges went on sale and for both the Preview Night and the event, they were sold out within an hour.  Approximately 130,000 from all over the globe attend the event annually.

Three waves of guests have been announced.  Thus far guests which have been announced include: Franco Aureliana (writer/artist, Tiny Titans, Itty Bitty Hellboy), ArtBaltazar (writer/artist, Tiny Titans, Itty Bitty Hellboy), Kelly Sue DeConnick (writer , Captain Marvel, Pretty Deadly, Bitch Planet), Carlos Ezquerra (Artist & co-creator, Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog), Lev Grossman (Author, The Magicians, Magician King, The Magician’s Land), Hugh Howey (Author, WOOL Series), Reginald Hudlin (Writer/Director/Producer, Django Unchained, Black Panther animated series), Steve Lieber (Artist, Super Foes of Spider-Man, Whiteout), Scott McCloud (Writer/Artist, Zot!, Understanding Comics, The Sculptor), Jimmie Robinson (Writer/artist, Five Weapons, Bomb Queen), Luis Royo (Fantasy Illustrator, The Ice Dragon, Malefic Time), Sara Ryan (Writer, Bad Houses, Empress of the World), William Stout (Artist/Illustrator, The Dinosaurs), Jillian Tamaki (Writer/Artist, Skim, This One Summer), and Mariko Tamaki (Writer, Skim, This One Summer).

Voting is under way for the Eisner Awards.  Four individuals will be honored into the Eisner Comic Awards Hall of Fame this summer out of the 13 nominees.    The nominees include Lynda Barry, John Byrne, Chris Claremont, Howard Cruse, Kim Deitch, Matt Groening, Denis Kitchen, Frank Miller, Francoise Mouly, Paul S. Newman, Lily Renee Peters Phillips, Bob Powell and Frank Robbins.   Two (additional) individuals have been selected by the Eisner Awards judges to be inducted into the Will Eisner Comic Awards Hall of Fame for 2015 – Marjorie “Marge” Henderson Buell (creator of Little Lulu) and Bill Goggon (creator of Katy Keene).
