While Hollywood is busy with traffic jams, media everywhere and formally attired film stars, directors, producers, editors, cinematographers and so forth heading to the Oscars, Mayim Bialik is up the coast speaking at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center in Foster City, California today.
Bialik is giving a talk on Encouraging Girls to Get Their Geek On at the Hillbarn Theater. Her inspirational talk will excite students, especially girls, to embrace the sciences with enthusiasm and curiosity (without forsaking the arts, of course). Students 13 and younger must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. The event is sold out.
Peninsula Jewish Community Center (PJCC) welcomes with joy people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds. The mission of the PJCC is to build a caring and connected community, develop leadership and strengthen Jewish identity and values in a center with an environment that is welcoming to all people at every stage of life. PJCC’s innovative Center provides programs and services designed to meet the needs of everyone from infants to seniors. PJCC has 50,000 square foot Byer Athletic Center; and hold classes in their Koret Learning Center; provide for children an award-winning preschool and seasonal day camps. The PJCC is a beneficiary of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, and Sonoma counties.
We will update any further information and any media that comes in following her talk which is at 3 PM Pacific today (Feburary 22, 2015).
