Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures is bringing Blizzard’s wildly popular video game Warcraft to the big screen in June 10, 2016.   On Nov 6 the first official trailer was released (see below).

Warcraft is produced by Charles Roven via his Atlas Entertainment Banner and directed by Duncan Jones, starring Travis Fimmel, Dominic Cooper, Robert Kazinsky, Toby Kebbell, Ben Foster, Ruth Negga, Daniel Wu and Paula Patton.

‘Warcraft,’ which is a multi-player fantasy series game with multiple chapters is set in a peaceful world of Azeroth.   Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces fearsome invaders, Orc warriors who are colonizing with each other after fleeing their dying home.   Two worlds connect, as a portal opens, where one army faces extinction and the other destruction.   Two heroes from opposing sides will decide the fate of their family, people and home as they embark on a major conflict.

Warcraft portrays the origin story of the initial encounters between the humans and the orcs, with an emphasis upon both the Alliance’s and the Horde’s sides of their conflict. Featuring characters such as Durotan and Lothar, the film will take place in a variety of locations established in the video game series.
