Spoilers:

The following is a lot of paraphrasing and summarizing that came from multiple sources who attended the taping tonight and some had slightly different viewpoints on the scenes so we have done our best to summarize capturing the essence of the episode.  If there are discrepancies between what is here and what ends up in a final taping report or gets aired, we apologize.  It is challenging when getting the information via various sources who don’t always have the same memory.  😉

Guest Star:  Claire is played by Alessandra Torresani

Sheldon receives a letter from his Meemaw.  (Leonard and Penny are in the background while he reads the letter.)  She informs him that she plans to visit him.  Sheldon and Leonard later pick up Meemaw at the airport.  Sheldon, in a hilarious scene,  is typical Sheldon at the airport and points out to Leonard everyone young and old, men and women that are “NOT” Meemaw.

Sheldon gets snarky with Leonard and Meemaw calls him on it and makes him apologize to him.   He then asks his Meemaw if she can stay forever. Awww.

Penny meets Meemaw and she likes Penny. She tells Penny that she is perfect for Leonard because she feels Leonard’s job is just a hobby.  Penny comments to Leonard that her grandmother smoked and ate the ashes.

Back at the apartment, Amy first arrives Sheldon says to Meemaw “you’re going to like her, you and her have the same sense of fashion.”  Things go pleasant enough.  Sheldon leaves the room to go see the present his Meemaw brought him.  Leonard and Penny follow suit and keep him company because Meemaw asks for some private time with Amy.

Meemaw turns to Amy and  it isn’t all roses at first. Meemaw seems to have an axe to grind with her over the breakup. She tells Amy outright  “Maybe I don’t like you” then Amy said “Well maybe I don’t like you either.” And Sheldon was in the middle of the couch between them like “Hey, wait, no…”  Amy then suggests that perhaps she should go, and stood up to leave, but Sheldon stops her.   Meemaw lets a little secret of his slip – that he has a ring for Amy!  She then says to Sheldon, “and don’t you go giving her that engagement ring you have for her.”  Amy asks “what ring?”  Sheldon explains that his mother gave it to him because he was thinking about giving it to her before they broke up.   Meemaw then asks for some private time with Amy. Sheldon leaves the room to go see the present his Meemaw brought him. Leonard and Penny follow suit and keep him company because Meemaw asks for some private time with Amy.

Leonard and Penny suggest that Sheldon check on the ladies again, which he does to find that he needs to intervene.  He immediately tells Meemaw that he is going to take Amy’s side because Meemaw always took Pop-Pop’s side.

Sheldon comes to Amy’s defense, saying that “one of them helped the other grow and change”, then says “but I’m still working on her.”  (Cute Awww moment, because he puts his arm around Amy while he says this.)  Meemaw and Amy have a heart-to-heart talk and after.  Meemaw says that if Sheldon is sure she won’t stand in their way Amy says “So, if he wanted to give me that ring, we would have your blessing?”.Meemaw says something like “I guess so.”  When Meemaw says that about the ring Leonard says “We should probably go and let you guys have some privacy” and makes to leave.  Penny says “Yeah. You go and I’ll catch up with you later.” But then Amy says “You have a ring? Penny did you know about this?” At which point Penny just stares at her and says something like “We’ll give you guys some privacy.”

Amy started rubbing Sheldon’s shoulder and smiling at him, catching his eye, etc. Amy asks Sheldon if he is going to give her the ring, and he chirps back “Woman, I just gave you my virginity, cool your jets.”  Yes, he says this in front of Meemaw…can’t wait to see her expression!

At the comic bookstore Raj and Howard meet a girl, Claire, who is a screenplay writer for a Sci-fi children’s show.   She finds  out about Raj being a scientist and asks for help with science.   Raj does not know what to do because he already has a girlfriend, decides to call her.

Raj calls while sharing dinner over at Howard and Bernadette’s in front of them.  He tells her he already has a girlfriend and he cannot go on a date with her. She then tells him she did not ask him on a date, but just for help on her screenplay.  He then says to her ‘Oh come on, you can’t tell me we didn’t have a spark?” (not sure of the actual word used here).  [conversation paraphrased because exact wording was unclear] In which Claire replies, “you have a girlfriend so what does it matter?”  He then pushes and says “Oh come on I at least told you I had a girlfriend, you can at least answer me.” She then confirms that they did.

Putting the phone aside, while still connected, Raj asks Howard and Bernadette what his next move should be in which Bernadette reminds him that he already has a girlfriend.  He says “Oh yeah, right, good catch.”  He then tries to end the conversation, but Claire suggests that they can still get together to work on the screenplay, in which Raj says ‘no not for me, ever since we met and had a  spark (not sure of the word here) , I’ve been planning our wedding in my head.”.  (That was the tag scene, in it Raj dreams of being married and having children – yes this is where the doll, replaced by a kid scene came into play.)

 

Note: One fan that attended last night clarified that Meemaw’s reaction to Amy was specific to the breaking of Sheldon’s heart during the breakup and was a bit of a test to see how much both of them cared for each other. It was not that she purposely disliked Amy but more Amy’s action that led to heartache.   So overall this was a good thing for both Sheldon and Amy.  Amy needed to see how deeply she affected Sheldon during the breakup and Sheldon needed to prove to his Meemaw that Amy was “the one” for him and his choice.   So, the point is, don’t think Meemaw is bad or evil.  She was a “plot ploy” to further advance their commitment to each other and this is all good. 😉  See link above for full report.

BTS Note:

Jim, Mayim and Kaley were laughing outside of 4A about something that really tickled them.   Jim was really smiley all night though, bounding up the stairs by the elevator once when that set was covered right after a scene, doing a little bit of a dance with his feet between takes in 4A at the end, etc.

Clarification:  Some people were confused by an earlier report about Meemaw claiming that she didn’t want to give Amy the cookie recipe but Mary made her do so, well that was a language barrier issue.   Here is a further elaboration on that:

I didn’t hear the recipe mentioned at all.  Meemaw did say “Sheldon may think I’m just here to bake him cookies, but the real reason for my visit is to size you up” to Amy, but that was the only mention of cookies I heard.  And the only time I heard Mary mentioned was when Meemaw said Mary might be ok with Amy, but she (Meemaw) wasn’t so sure.
