The Big Bang Theory seems to have several stars that have films out in theaters at the moment. Melissa Rauch’s The Bronze opened this weekend, along with Kaley Cuoco’s new film, Burning Bohdi. Johnny Galecki just returned from three screenings of his new film, The Master Cleanse at SXSW, and Simon Helberg has a film releasing soon in Europe that stars Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and Helberg based on a true story, called Florence Foster Jenkins.
This past weekend Cuoco attended the Los Angeles Premiere of Burning Bohdi at the Laemmle Monica Film Center in Santa Monica, California. We bring you photos from the premiere of her film.
Burning Bohdi is written and directed by University of New Mexico Professor Matthew McDuffie and produced by Marshall Bear. Burning Bohdi not only stars Cuoco, but Landon Liborion(Degrassi: The Next Generation, Hemlock Grove, Forsaken), Cody Horn( Magic Mike, A Change of Heart, Worst Friends), Andy Buckley(Jurassic World, Bridesmaids, Horrible Bosses 2), Sasha Pieterse( Pretty Little Liars, X-Men: First Class), and Virginia Madsen (Sideways, Crazy Kind of Love, The Number 23).
Burning Bohdi is about a group of millennials who learn about the death of a former high school classmate and have to learn to deal with death of a friend. The friends all return home after they see on Facebook that the most popular person in their group has died. The reunion stirs up a lot of unresolved feelings of love, longing and regret, as well as forgiveness mortality and gratitude.
Cuoco shows a new side to her skill by offering a dramatic character that was dumped by her boyfriend, causing her to spiral into a deep depression. Cuoco plays Katy, the ex-girlfriend of Dylan (Landon Liborion) who comes home following reading about the death of his best friend in high school on Facebook.
Cuoco was attracted to the role of Katy because it was so vastly different from her previous roles. It allowed her to expand her acting muscle.
